world change right here

now, i am back from haiti... but my heart is still half there... half with the people i desire to help. the nations who need to know Christ. the adventure is is to pursue His mission abroad...

However God has me here in northwest Arkansas for this coming year. It has been a struggle, to be honest with you, coming home to this land of abundance. i have seen a lot in myself that i am not fond of, that needs to change, and i have found that the simplistic life i had in haiti contradicts with american culture. i'm still figuring out how to reconcile that to the glory of God.

all that to say.... God has presented me with a really cool opportunity right here at home. it's called 24. it is an "at-home-mission-trip" through my church The Link. we are getting a team of 24 people to pray for 24 hours and raise $24 from 24 supporters. [hence the name "24"]

the purpose: Go into all the nations- most certainly!!! but do not neglect the nations all around you. God's heart is for ALL people- - -there AND here.

the project: begins august 13th. we will be praying on our own, as a team, and there is going to be a 24 hour worship/prayer service

the points: here are some of the very specific things we are  praying and raising support for -

1. a couple from our church is headed to the middle east to a closed, but God-hungry, country to deliver 500 bibles

2. our group is going to help translate and print the book of ephesians as a part of a complete new testament translation to give to the Mbore people of papa new guinea. they have not had a bible in their native tongue.

3. The Link desires to get the over 1000 international students from the schools in the northwest arkansas area involved in some aspect with the kingdom of God - this includes parties, outreaches, discipleship, hangout time... any and all ways to be Christ to the nations here on our doorstep

4. as the year goes on we want to provide scholarships for people at the local schools to be involved with christian events they might otherwise not be able to attend. we don't want money to be a roadblock to connecting

5. we are still working with Project Love Covers to help send 200 backpack sleepingbags to street children around the world - this is an amazing organization started from our church that meets a REAL need street kids have and allows an opportunity for the Love Covers staff to share Christ with the kids - http://www.projectlovecovers.com/lovecovers/index.html

i would love to have you join with me in prayer or in financial support if you feel led. it is a one time gift of $24. if you would like more information please email me at travelingbrit@yahoo.com

i love you all so much and know that together as the body of Christ we can help bring His Kingdom to this broken world. -Brittan
